I told myself I must
Be sensible, adult
Cautious.
And I tried
I did.
I caught at the silken sides
Found an isolated toehold
Stopped
For a moment
To view my life –
– parched, void –
Before you grasped me
And I fell
Faster, faster
Rushing, crushing,
Breathless, boneless
Stripped skinless
Your strength holding me
Your love protecting me
As I fall
Towards the light.
